For many years, I’ve been passionate about real estate investing. (My first client for Zentek was a real estate agency!) In 2020, I decided to start my real estate investment journey and bought my first flip house. (Heck of a year for that, right?) I thought it would be really cool to document my journey on YouTube, so Logan Flips Houses was born!

This is my first foray into video production and editing, but I’m ready for the challenge. I’ve been struggling to try and figure out how to organize the production, schedule episodes, and keep the recording going at Melrose. The season opener was supposed to be back in July! It’s finally coming together and I couldn’t be happier. I’m not super happy with my editing abilities yet, but they’ll develop as I go.

Melrose: The Current Project

My first real estate investment purchase was started in April and closed in July 2020 (find out more about that process in episode 2). It’s a quaint little house on the outskirts of my hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With a little more than 1,200 feet, it’s perfect for a family to live and grow in a quiet neighborhood.

It hasn’t been updated much since it was built in the mid-1970s, so we have our work cut out for us with updating the interior, painting the exterior, and completely remodeling the kitchen. I’ll write an in-depth post with the before-and-after that will be exclusively available to our Patreons.

My Core Team

The most important part of any investment or business venture is having the right core team in place to get the job done the way you need it to be done. Currently, my core team consists of a construction manager and a real estate agent — and both make appearances in Logan Flips Houses. My team is the absolute best (but I may be a little biased).

Ephraim is my Construction Manager and handles the day-to-day goings-on at my flips. While I provide the money and the project plan, he executes those plans and we make decisions together about how we want the final product to turn out. Without him and his expertise, there wouldn’t be a Logan Flips Houses because I don’t have the knowledge or the time to get things done. I’ve known Ephraim for nearly a decade and I know I can trust him with any task I push his way.

Brienna is my Real Estate Agent and handles all of the real estate transactions with my flips. She works for the local Keller Williams agency here in Tuscaloosa. When we’re looking for our next flip, Brienna sends potentials our way, goes with us to look at potential flips, and advises us throughout the entire flipping process. I’ve known Brienna for 8 years — when I bought my first home — and I know I can trust her to get the job done.
