The Play Ground Play Table
Wouldn’t it be awesome to have moss growing in your desk? Or even have a fish aquarium built right in? Well, so did the Nothing Design Group. Their table, the Play Ground Play Table, by designer Jin-woog Koo, has compartments for planters and for aquariums. The wooden table, also coming a small coffee table size, has a workspace and storage space. An acrylic plate moves around on a ball-and-bearing system to provide the workspace. (More Play Ground, Play Table images after the jump.)
I searched around a bit for a price on such tag and I couldn’t find one, so it’s either too expensive or only one exists. Either way, it’s out of my budget and I’d be better off making my own…
This seems like such an interesting idea–making my own, that is–that I believe I may draw up the plans and make one for myself in the upcoming year. It seems simple enough. Right? Some glue, hammering, drains for the aquariums, make sure the dirt doesn’t rot the thing. Oh, and I must have ample space to work! Some sort of Zen garden compartment could be incorporated as well, for those stressful days. So many possibilities! It’s literally endless.
What are some of your ideas for a desk like this? Limitations of my current ideas? Leave your thoughts in the comments. I’ll be sure to post the schematics when I make them.
Here’s the other images I promise:
